I’ve started rereading the Draco Trilogy recently and was surprised to see a lot of phrases used in MI were originally from Draco Trilogy. It’s like spot the MI quote! Here are some I found through some quick skimming, although I’m sure there are more.
“I know,” Charlie said amiably, “but we’re all out of bitter revenge, so it’s either tea or nothing.” Draco Veritas
Hodge Starkweather: Unfortunately we’re all out of bitter revenge at the moment, so it’s either tea or nothing. “
“Looking Better in Black Than the Widows of Our Enemies since 1500,” Draco said. “It’s a Malfoy family motto.” Draco Veritas
Jace: “it means ‘Shadowhunter: looking better in black than the widows of our enemies since 1234”
“Yes, well, Hermione could convince an electric eel that it was a harmless rubber duck,” said Draco. “Of course, that wouldn’t help the poor bastard who tried to take a bath with it.” Draco Veritas
"You may call an eletric eel a rubber duck but that does not make it a rubber duck and god help the poor bastard who takes a bath with the duckie"
“I don’t want to be a man,” Draco said, tilting his head back and lazily slitting his eyes like a cat in the sun. “I want to be a depressed, angst-‐ridden teenager who can’t confront his own inner demons, so takes it out verbally on other people.” Draco Veritas
Jace: I don’t want to be a man. I want to be an angst-ridden teenager, who can’t confront his own inner demons and takes it out verbally on other people instead.
